Program Qualifications

To qualify for the program, students must request assistance and provide verification of their disability. Disabilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Physical disabilities
  • Hearing impairments
  • Vision loss

Also served are students with learning and emotional disabilities, a history of substance abuse, and other disabling health conditions.

  • Individuals with an individualized education plan (IEP)
  • CA Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) clients
  • LA County Department of Mental Health (DMH) clients
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI) / Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) recipients
  • Los Angeles Unified Office of Transition Services students

Enrollment Process

  1. Stop by the DSS Office or add your name to the interest list: https://bit.ly/4e9de7q
  2. Fill out DSS paperwork
  3. If you are a new student, create a DACE Student Account - CLICK HERE
  4. Register for STEP/Orientation class (Reading and Math Assessments - 3 days total)
  5. Make an appointment with the DSS advisor
